The Opportunity

Due to continued growth and ambitious plans for further expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified VAT Consultant to join our diverse and progressive tax team.

The successful candidate may have the opportunity to develop and progress to the position of Manager, subject to business requirements and promotion guidelines.

This dynamic role will involve working within the tax service line, supporting the Indirect Tax Senior Manager and Manager to deliver VAT compliance and consulting services. You will gain comprehensive experience across a range of indirect tax services, including:
  • Management of a portfolio of indirect tax clients across various industries, including Irish PLCs, multinational corporations, semi-State organisations, and significant privately-owned Irish companies.
  • Collaborating closely with senior management and partners to deliver high-end VAT advisory and consulting services.
  • Supporting VAT function improvement and optimisation through the application of technology solutions.
  • Liaising with clients in an efficient and timely manner, advising, researching, and resolving VAT technical matters on advisory assignments.
  • Full commercial management for a portfolio of client work.
  • Working closely with other business units within the firm to identify VAT opportunities for existing clients.
  • Corresponding with Revenue and other third parties on behalf of clients.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and reviewing the workload of associate-level trainees, including presenting in-house VAT training courses.
  • Contributing to the continued development and growth of the practice.

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Irish VAT compliance and advisory assignments.
  • Experience in VAT on property transactions, RCT, due diligence projects, and cross-border transactions is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working in a Big4/Top10 professional services firm is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong academic record with a degree in accounting, economics, finance, law, or a relevant field.
  • Part or fully qualified AITI/CTA or equivalent qualification.
  • Expertise in directing and driving the success of multiple engagements.
  • Experience in managing global relations and client engagements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • A desire to learn and apply your knowledge to help clients.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build quality, diverse relationships.
  • An ability to contribute new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
  • An enthusiastic team player and manager with a passion for coaching and helping others reach their potential.
  • Ambitious, with a strong commitment to personal learning and development.
